Art James Jr, Owner
PROGRESSIVE SCREEN SYSTEMS, INC. was founded in June of 2002 by Arthur James, Jr. of Sarasota, Florida. Born and raised a Sarasota native, Art has had exposure to manufacturing since he was a young child. His parents began Superior Furniture (now Casual Creations) back in the 70′s, and since then Mr. James’s passion for business, coupled with his knowledge of the manufacturing industry allowed Progressive Screen Systems to come alive with distribution and dealerships extending from the northernmost tips of Canada to the southernmost islands of the Bahamas. Art now travels to trade shows throughout the US, building business relations and keeping up on all the latest trends in manufacturing. Art is a go getter and is not afraid to take on a new challenge, which is proven in his ability to expand his businesses with new ideas and products.
Kim Boynton, Office Manager
Originally from Connecticut, Kim relocated to Florida in 2001. Kim has been employed with Progressive since October 2003, and is the person responsible for maintaining smooth operations between the office and the production team. She is the voice behind Progressive, and provides exceptional customer service and technical information via telephone, and facilitates training and product knowledge classes at the factory. Kim is well versed in the manufacturing process, and has been requested to be on job sites assisting and directing motorized screen installations. Besides the day to day operations of Progressive, Kim handles employee benefits, payroll, and many aspects of HR including new hires and maintaining employee files for all four of Art James’s companies.
Basilio Marines, Production
Basilio began manufacturing for the James family in 1992 as an assembler for patio furniture, putting slings in chaise lounges. He has training in all areas of manufacturing, and has been working with aluminum products for the motorized screen systems since 2009. Basilio is a detail oriented and hard working part of the team, and takes pride in every motorized unit he produces. When it comes to measuring, cutting, and assembling, Basilio makes it look easy. His positive attitude and work ethic reflect on his coworkers, making him a star quality employee.
All of our motorized screens are manufactured in Sarasota, Florida.

WE’VE EXPANDED! Due to our increased growth and expansion, we are pleased to announce our relocation to our new and updated manufacturing facility! With over 176, 000 sq ft of manufacturing space, we are able to incorporate all the must haves of a manufacturing plant including a machine shop & welding department, grinding area, sewing room, and state of the art powder coat line. You are encouraged to visit our new facility in Sarasota, Florida, for a guided tour.
